So, the 26 entries in the competition ... hard to keep track to them all. One irritated thing was, like some years befoure, the Big Five. Pay the most and you can by yourself a spot in the finale. Let them be in the semifinals too.

Eurovision Song Contest 2013 - Semifinals Summary

So is the years biggest music spectacle over, again. after two semifinals 20 countries joined the Big Five (Germany, U.K., France, Spain and Italy - aka those that pays the most) and Sweden in the grand finale yesterday. And really, it was such a large difference between the songs that it feelt like evrything between heaven and earth was in it.

The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey (2012)

Summary: Sixty years before Frodo is given the One Ring, a younger Bilbo Baggins is one day visided by Gandalf who invites him to join a company of thirteen dwarves under the leadership of Thorin Oakenshiled on a quest to reclaim a lost dwarf kingdom Erebor from the dragon Smaug.

Thirteen dwarves, because seven are so old school!

"Bilbo makes fourteen ... next time, I will take fewer..."

All the small detales such as the movement of the eagels feathers and the conection to the LotR-trilogy makes it a beautiful movie. The beginning where old Bilbo and Frodo prepares for Bilbo`s 111 birthday is a perfect way to tie it together, I hope there will be a similar ending. Thorin vs Azog in Moria is similar to the scene where Isildur fought Sauron only it was grandfather dwarf who died in the battel and Azog lost his hand and not his finger. The Goblin Town thought reminded me about Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom. 
The best part thought was Smaug, who never truly shown but the glimpses of the dragon, a shadow here, a leg there and so on, made him more mysterious and dangerous than if he would have appered in full scale (heh, scale). And the ending was perfect with the eye as we where reminded that even thought Bilbo said that the worst were behind them, there is a dragon at the end of the journey.

Dwarves; masters of forges and writing complex contracts

Dwarf-model 2012

The dwarves this time does not all look like the traditionall LotR-dwarves, the Durin-trio actually looks abit human with almost no beards ... on that note, for being dwarves that lives (or lived) under a mountain they can for sure climb into trees fast and acrobatic (seriously, observ that scene).
Other than that were there in the Hobit 2012 much more battle than in the actual book, the dwarfs looks nothing like described in the book (which makes it easier to tell them apart)  and the scene with the trolls were completly different, can not say if it was good or bad.

Peter Jackson managed to capture many small details in the book and transform it to something large. Compared to LotR where he cut down the event here he dragged it out. At 1hr 40min it was only chapter three. Radagast was only mentioned in the passing after they meet Beorn, here in the movie he was a slightly important character. Repeatedly he appears to have found one sentence in the book and managed to spin a story about it.
