Tre små kaniner (eller egntligen harar men ändå...)

Några harar som jag har observerat. Jag tror att det silver färgade är en hane då denne jagar iväg den tredje haren då denne närmade sig den bruna, troligen en hona.

Silver Öra (Silver Ear) - called so because of his ear, believed male
Klöver (Clover) - was eating the clover all the time, believed female and Silver's girl
Lillen (Little) - smaller than Silver, believed male (Silver hunted him when he got close to Clover)

Silver Öra och Klöver
Lillen

Midsommar - the Swedish Thanksgiving

... this year at the same day as the Sommer Solstice.

The Maypole (even thought today is June) is an tradition that is believed to come from the the Iron Age and early Medieval and is basically an erected pole (many times a flagpole) that has been decorated with either flowers or ribbons. Here in Sweden it is usually birch leaf and flowers but the shape can vary from place to place. Most commonly is the cross with two rings from the arms but many more occurs (and not only in Sweden).

It is also an excuse to have some snaps, eat strawberry cake, visit the relatives far away and dance around a pole like small children again.

June 6: D-day came after, we had it first!

6th of June 1944 has gone into history as the Longest Day or D-Day. But when it did it had already been named Swedish Flag Day until it 1983 became the National day.

The Swedish national day, compared to France and U.S. the Swedish national day was not really born from a freedomfight but rather in an atempt to raise nationalism ... well, we do have the election of Gustav Vasa as King of Sweden in 1523 on this day (kind of, at the time we had a different calender so it would be June 16 today), which marked the end of the Kalmar Union and the start of the modern Sweden.
