Mission: Impossible II (2000)

Summary: Agent Ethan Hunt hunts (yes, I do love this pun) a former member of the IMF who has stolen a new deadly virus called Chimera and its cure Bellerophon. However, with an enemy that knows how Ethan works and how he executes his missions it will be an easy feat.

Ah, the American James Bond ... nothing more needed to be said. The recruitment of a female thief (and the ex-girlfriend to the bad guy) which he does it in true James Bond style by seducing her. And of course, MIF, the only ones who deliver a message in the form of exploding sunglasses concealed in a rocket ... something I actually belive that Q or Bond would have liked to do. A little more acrobatics with ninja like moves and less suits than Bond but still, the explosions, the girl and the odd inventions ... it all was there.

Look, I am Spider-Man!
It was a littel bit to predictable in some cases which made it boring from time to time. How will Ethan enter a tall building with a large airwnet construction? By the classic "rope-jumping" ofcourse. And Ethan did some extreem climbing as usual. Not to mention that final part of the mission involving saving the day in a race against time, it took forever! Sure, he had a time limit of 20 hours but still...

"Hello Clarice ... oh, Ethan, my bad"
On a final note: It is said that you learn something new everytime, or was it everyday? Anyhow, I did learn something new. It actually pulled in the corners of the mouth when I saw Anthony Hopkins, aka Hannibal Lecter, as "Mission Commander Swanbeck". A small part in the movie but it made my day.
